They are the first stretch of I-10 northwest of the interchange, where San Antonio's premier shopping and entertainment district sits at the doorstep of every community this site covers: minutes from the outer communities rather than across town.
The area is the practical anchor of the corridor. Communities along I-10 from Leon Springs to Boerne share a highway that begins here, and the retail, dining, and entertainment base at this end of the route is the daily-life destination they all drive to. Transportation
I-10 carries the corridor.
Interstate 10 carries HOV lanes in both directions from Ralph Fair Road to La Cantera Parkway, covering much of the stretch this site serves. Corridor commuters use those lanes to move between the outer communities and the employment centers at and inside Loop 1604.
The Interchange

The I-10 and Loop 1604 interchange is being rebuilt as a five-level stack interchange, with flyover connectors among the tallest highway ramps in Texas. The project is central to how the corridor's two main roads connect, and it shapes commutes for everyone who uses this gateway.

The South Texas Medical Center, UTSA's main campus, and the USAA and Valero headquarters are major employment centers at or inside Loop 1604.
